Metronome — Clean App Initiative

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 21 May 2026

We do not collect any personal data. Full stop. This page explains exactly what Metronome does and doesn't do with your information.

What we collect

Nothing. Metronome does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information, usage data, analytics, crash reports, or any other data from your device.

What stays on your device

Your track configurations and saved track store are written as JSON files to your device's local documents directory. App settings are stored using iOS's standard UserDefaults storage. None of this data ever leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.

Background audio & Now Playing

Metronome supports background audio playback and publishes basic playback state (app name and transport status) to the system Now Playing channel so that the lock screen and Control Center can display controls. This is handled entirely by iOS system APIs — no data is sent to us or to any external service.

Third-party services

Metronome uses no third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising networks, or crash reporting tools. There are no external network requests of any kind.

Permissions

Metronome does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, or any other sensitive device capability. Audio playback is handled entirely through standard iOS audio output — the app does not record or access audio input.

Children

Because we collect no data whatsoever, Metronome is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to this policy

If anything about our data practices ever changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Given the app's design, we don't anticipate that happening.
