Launching the Clean App Initiative and Pomodoro Timer
Today we're shipping two things at once: the Clean App Initiative and its first app, Pomodoro Timer, now live on the App Store.
The Clean App Initiative
The Clean App Initiative is an ongoing series of focused apps built around one rule: each app does exactly one thing, and does it without clutter. No subscriptions, no dark patterns, no permissions you didn't ask for. We started it because we kept reaching for a simple tool and finding something bloated instead.
Pomodoro Timer is the first app in the series. More are in the works. If you have an idea for something that fits the brief — one problem, one solution, nothing extra — we'd love to hear it.
Pomodoro Timer
Pomodoro by SheepiesLab is available today for £1.99. The price covers the cost of developing and publishing the app — Apple's developer programme isn't free, and neither is the time it takes to get a build through review. There's no subscription and no upsell behind it.
The full source code is published on GitLab under the AGPL-3.0 licence. You're welcome to read it, learn from it, or build on top of it — just keep any derivative work open under the same terms.
If you try the app and have feedback, reach out at benng@sheepieslab.com. We read everything.
